When You Reach Me Cover Design
I designed an unofficial book cover for the tween/teen novel by Rebecca Stead. Complete with original digital illustrations and hand-lettering, this cover incorporates various elements of the story’s central mystery in order to captivate the audience and introduce them subtly to the story.

Process
This short novel is full of adventure and mystery as a young girl living in New York City recieves strange notes, eventually leading up to a time-travel story. Floating objects capture the book’s scattered clues which later come together. Throughout thumbnails, sketches and color comps, I worked on refining the concept and composition in a way that appeals to the target audience of young readers.
